Kenny’s favourite food is pizza. And I'm not trying to be mean but he's as round as a barrel. He's a world champion at eating and is so annoying.
Whenever I ride he will stand still alot but whenever we jump he won’t stop trotting and will keep going over the jump and won’t stop until I pull so hard on the reins that he nearly sits down!
Kenny has a blaze down his nose and white socks. His Eyes are brown, trusting, honest and cheeky. Kenny is 20 years old in horse years but is only 5 and a half in our years. His coat is a beautiful golden colour and his mane and tail are white. In my eyes he's a champion and a loving companion just like our 3 dogs.
My favourite moment with him was when we were walking up the back of our farm and he gave me a 10 minute cuddle. Have you got any idea how a horse cuddles? Well horses cuddle with their necks. You get the fluffiest cuddle you'll ever get if you ever get a cuddle from a horse. Kenny never cuddles me much any more. But ever since then I always feel like horses are the fluffiest, most cuddly and the cutest animals in New Zealand. Kenny is special to me and that will never change.🐎

School holiday
The problem and the help
On The 12th of July 2021, my family packed up one of our cars and hooked up our boat to the car. We were off to Leigh for 4 days to celebrate my Aunties 30th birthday. But first we needed to pick up my Dad from the Kerikeri airport. As we were driving along 2 kilometres from the airport Mum realized that one of the boat tires had burst and that we had to take the tire off and put the spare one on. But after half an hour of trying we couldn't take off the old tire or even get the boat off the car. But just as Mum thought that we would have to walk all the way to the airport and pray that they wouldn't get stolen, a man came along and said that he would look after the boat and the car for us. Mum said “Thanks I feel like a leprechaun that has been given a pot of gold.
Back on the road :)
My Mum got me to run down the road to the Kerikeri airport to pick Dad up. Dad was waiting when I got to the airport and when he saw me he asked me “Where are the others?” and I answered, “ They're two kilometers down the road with the car and the boat.” When heard that the car and the boat were two kilometers down the road he gasped and sprinted to go to the toilet and grab his luggage. We ran down the road in record time and I felt like not even a leopard could run as fast as me and my Dad.
10 minutes later Mum and Dad had managed to put the new tire on the boat and we were driving out of Kerikeri with four and a half hours to go. Three hours later my Dad and all the boys in the car were sleeping and we had one hour to go till we arrived at Leigh!!!
The rest of the holiday
We Arrived at the holiday batch at 8:00. When we entered the batch all I could smell was the comforting scent of NACHOS!!
As soon as we walked through to the dining room we were smothered in hugs and happy squeals. It sounded like they had just discovered a pot of gold. Exactly nine seconds we were being told to sit down and eat up. After one minute I felt like I was going to burst! Several times that night I felt like I was going to burst. But the worst was to come the next day. But all you need to know is that it passed and that the rest of the holiday passed very quickly (like we were riding a cheetah) and that no more problems occurred.
Reflection
The part I enjoyed : I found that making this blog post helped me to understand how important matariki is and remember all the people who used the stars to navigate.
The part that I struggled with: I struggled with the animation and the placing but in the end it all worked out. The slide also toke 3 days to work out the way I wanted it to.
A question: What should I do next time to make it better?

WALT: Write an incredible recount
Arbor Day at Lake Ngatu
On the 22nd of June 2021, Paparore School went to participate in the arbor planting. The place we were planting is the lake next to our school which is called Lake Ngatu. All of the students in our School were sooo excited but even so we were walking. Even though we were only going about 50 metres my legs were aching by the time we got to Lake Ngatu.
Just as we settled down two or three men and women started talking and giving us safety instructions and a demonstration of how to plant the trees and the other plants that we were planting which included harakeke(flax) and this spiky plant that we had to be careful not to poke our eyes with. Then we split into groups. These are the students who were in my group: Chase, Larell and Nova. Our group leader was Chase’s mum Kelly.
After a bit of a mix up and some confusion my group finally got to start planting. Only adults and older siblings were allowed to use the spades that heaps of students in my school had brought. The process that my group used was when we found a spot that had about twenty plants still lying on the ground in their containers we would go and stand next to a plant and then we would try to gently pull it out of its container then gently crumble the bottom of the soil so that the roots of the plants could easily grow into the soil. Then the adult supervisor would dig a hole and we would place the plant in the soil and gently place the soil back into the whole next to the plant. The whole process took at least 3 minutes.
By the time we finished planting about 1800 trees we were all starving. Lucky for us there was a sausage sizzle but unluckily there was a huge line. My sausage fell in the dirt but I didn't mind. I don't mind a little dirt. After everyone had eaten their sausages and had a little rest (which was very chilly because there was a brisk wind blowing) we headed back to school. Just as I arrived back one of the teachers named Whaea Deb started a clapping queue to thank all of the adult helpers and made all of the parents and other helpers walk through as well.
My favourite part of the day was when everyone was rushing around like their life depended on it, trying to find more plants to plant. We all had a wonderful day and I hope that next year's Arbor Day will be just as fun. Overall, I had a wonderful day!

His eyes twinkle like the stars on clear nights and makes me feel like he is from the stars themselves . My Great Grandfather's ears stick out like an elfs and sometimes we even think he's one. His smile lights up my world and makes his face all wrinkled so wrinkled his eyes nearly close. My great grandfather has a double chin and when he smiles his chin goes up and when he is sad his chin goes down sort of like my chin. When he frowns it looks sort of like he is going to burst into tears. Great Grandfather is my Great Grandfather from my mum's side of my family. My favorite memory with my Great Grandfather was when we went to a sanctuary in Australia where we got to hold baby ALLIGATORS! We were pretty amazed at it not biting us but that was only the beginning of a fabulous adventure. The first most amazing sight that we went to was a cage that had millions of doors to let hundreds of parrots come and go whenever they wanted. Some of them even came and landed on your thumbs,head and arms to eat bird feed from a dish that you were given that was full of bird seed. Most of the sanctuary was amazing but the crocodile display was super! The oldest croc who was 39 years old, could jump 3-5 metres above the water WOW!!! The scariest animals there were 5 venomous snakes and 5 snakes that would squeeze you to death. You wouldn't be able to even guess how glad I was to see them behind several layers of glass! The last thing that we saw was a pack of kyotes! I thought they were just plain house dogs at my first glance.
